Hello Friends:
I would like to welcome you to my new newsletter “Dr. Granite’s Blog” that I am launching on the Substack platform, which is a hybrid social media application with the capability of producing a newsletter, a podcast, or a website individually or simultaneously. If you miss a newsletter there will be an archived copy available on my website (alfreddgranite.substack.com)
My reason for undertaking this new activity is to share my knowledge and perspective as a healthcare professional with as many people as possible. To facilitate this, I am initially making my newsletter free to anyone who is interested in its content. As a platform Substack can easily be monetized and separated into paying and nonpaying categories at any time, but as I said, my primary intention is to educate and disseminate this valuable information to as many people as possible.
Therefore, the only thing I ask of you is to spread the word and share my newsletter with your friends, family, and others you know that would likely find this information both interesting and valuable. One thing I can assure you of is that most of the things I will be discussing are not general knowledge, and in many cases fly in the face of conventional beliefs.
Remember, right now my newsletter is entirely free. Readers can directly subscribe to my blog on substack.com. In the search box type “Dr. Granite’s Blog”. They'll be prompted to subscribe or have the option to read it first.
Generally, I will select topics of particular interest to older individuals that are beginning to feel the effects of aging. Who also may have friends and family who suffer from age-related diseases and conditions including heart disease, type 2 diabetes, metabolic dysfunction, dementia and other neurological disorders, arthritis, and peripheral neuropathy.
It is my experience that there is a growing dissatisfaction with doctors and the current state of our healthcare system. At the same time, I am seeing a paradigm shift from the trusted nature that the healthcare industry held 50 or 60 years ago to a more independent and self-directed patient approach today.
I believe that much of this has to do with the evolution of the Internet and mainstream/social media. I have seen the enormous growth in medical knowledge that has occurred since the time that I was in medical school. And these discoveries are exponentially growing on pace with technology that now incorporates AI. This growth has resulted in a schism between traditional medical education that most doctors rely on, and cutting-edge discoveries destined to change the options available to those of us affected by the growing frequency of these age-related diseases and conditions.
In the process, I intend to introduce my readers to podcasts given by those that I consider the best medical and scientific minds of the day. I believe that you will be astonished by the things that you will learn by listening, some of which are almost exactly the opposite of what you have come to believe are generally accepted truths.
I will do my best to explain why we are seeing these changes. Believe me, some of them will surprise you… And some of them have been ironically created by us in an effort to improve our health and lifespan. Still, other factors are the result of technological and climatic changes which are integral to societal evolution, proliferation, and migration of the human species.
I will attempt to introduce you to new trends in healthcare and movement towards more natural curative substances than those offered by “BIG PHARMA” such as peptides. I also want to introduce you to a growing body of evidence that certain frequencies of light and sound can be effective in the treatment of what we once thought to be “incurable” diseases and conditions.
Finally, I will make specific recommendations that will help you to choose the best options available if you wish to take on the treatment of conditions that affect you or loved ones that you care for. Understand that I am not “selling” any particular product or technology. What I am doing is using my knowledge and experience to recommend the best choices that are directly available to you as a consumer that represent the best VALUE. In some cases, I am affiliated with these companies and as such receive a small commission for the referral. Rest assured these companies must earn my continued recommendation by maintaining a consistent level of quality and support.
I realize that cost is always an issue, but of equal or greater importance is the product’s efficacy. Where this comes into play is especially critical when discussing supplements and nutrients since the differences between products of the same name can be very subtle. Unless you understand organic chemistry, you would not likely notice these differences. However, in many cases, these differences can make a huge difference in the result.
Unsurprisingly, the best supplements are usually more expensive than less effective varieties. But it makes no sense to me to take a pill… or several pills day after day and never see any tangible results. The other thing that may not be as obvious is that taking the “correct” ratio and amount of a given supplement at the same time is critical to its effectiveness. Not only that, but certain vitamins and nutrients should be taken with a meal or on an empty stomach. It is very important to pay attention to the details concerning recommended administration.
Based on my current schedule, I anticipate generating a newsletter approximately once a week. In addition to the text portion of the letter, I will usually provide podcasts directly related to the content of any given newsletter within the webpage. There may also be additional embedded information with respect to specific products and services being discussed. Eventually, I plan to make myself available to answer questions and make general recommendations on a paid by time basis.
In the meantime, I would like to thank you for your participation in this new venture. If you have suggestions as to how I might improve my newsletter, I would appreciate hearing from you. If for any reason you no longer wish to receive regular newsletters, please message me and provide the email address you wish me to delete from my mailing list.
Until next time, take care and stay positive… Dr. G
